Robot day rates in New York run from $3,500 for the Bolt Jr+ to $5,450 for the Bolt-X, and every job adds an operator ($1,250), a technician ($910) and transport ($420 or $840 within NYC). The all-in shoot day, which is the number to compare between rental houses, runs from $6,080 to $8,450.

Every Rambow day includes the robot, our own operator and technician, Flair software, the standard track, and the truck. Nothing is added later except overtime past 10 hours, extra track sections, turntables, and an extra technician on very long track runs.
When you compare quotes, ask whether the operator, the technician, the track and the truck are in the number. Ours are. A robot-only rate that looks cheaper usually is not once the crew is added.
Price is one input. Before you hire any motion control house, look at the work and the experience behind it: how many jobs, on what kind of sets, with which cameras and at what speed. There are hundreds of jobs on this site, and they are a fraction of what we have shot.
Prelight days are a little less than shoot days for every rig. Overtime past 10 hours is 1.5x for two hours, then 2x. No weekend or holiday multiplier.
