Questions we get asked
- What is the MRMC Bolt?
- The Bolt is Mark Roberts Motion Control's high-speed cinema robot: a six-axis industrial arm tuned for camera moves, controlled by Flair software. It is the robot used for whip-fast product shots, red-carpet glambots and repeatable multipass work.
- How much track comes with the Bolt?
- Four 3 m (9.8 ft) sections, about 40 ft, are included. Extra sections are available per day. Bert's custom base is 32 in wide, so it fits through standard doorways and into spaces the stock MRMC base cannot.
- What cameras fit on the Bolt?
- Anything within the 44 lb payload: Phantom Flex4K, RED, ARRI Alexa Mini and 35, Sony Venice, with lens motors and wireless video. The camera mounts to the MRMC platform with 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 screws.
- Can Bert go on a pedestal instead of track?
- Yes. The same arm deploys on a pedestal base when the set is tight; see Ernie for that configuration.
