Cinebot Mini or Bolt Jr+: which compact robot should I rent?
The Bolt Jr+ is a scaled-down Bolt: Flair control, frame-accurate repeats, MRMC's own lens motors, a 22 lb payload and 4'11" of reach, on track, off a 120V outlet. The Cinebot Mini, Nano and Max are collaborative robots with camera software, built to cost less, and they give up payload, stability and repeatability to get there. We run the Bolt Jr+ in New York with an operator and technician, from $6,080 all-in. We do not carry the Cinebot range.

| Bolt Jr+ (our Abby) | High-speed, Flair, track, 22 lb, 4'11" reach, 120V, MRMC lens motors |
| Cinebot Mini / Nano / Max | Cobot arm with camera software; light camera and wide lens only; Tilta lens motors; repeats not always frame accurate |
| Bolt Jr+ all-in day in NYC | from $6,080 |
What the Cinebot gives up, from the jobs we have seen it on: the camera and lenses have to be light and fairly wide, the arm shakes at speed, and the repeat is not always frame accurate, which is what kills a multipass composite. Focus runs on Tilta motors rather than MRMC's, and they are inconsistent. The rig is light enough that a tripped e-stop can shift the track, and a shifted track ruins the pass you just shot. It is motion control lite: it costs less, and the quality follows the price.
If a Cinebot fits the location, a Bolt Jr+ almost always fits too. Even up several flights of stairs it is usually worth working out how to crane or hoist a Bolt Jr+ or a full-size Bolt, because the result the other way leaves everyone unhappy. If the job can afford motion control at all, pick a location where real motion control can work.
If the location can take a full-size Bolt, that is still the most versatile choice, and only a little more per day. If a production insists on a Cinebot, we can source one through a partner and send one of our operators with it.
Rates as of October 2026, US dollars, per 10-hour crew day. The signed booking agreement governs.
